Charms and Witches Slot

The history of Halloween began long ago on the lands of modern Britain and northern France. The territory was inhabited by Celtic pagan tribes who divided the calendar year into winter and summer parts. During the entire winter period, the Sun god was in captivity of the prince of darkness. On November 1, in the night, the doors opened into otherworldly worlds, and the inhabitants of hell safely penetrated the Earth. People lit fires and offered sacrifices to propitiate evil spirits. The lantern of Jack is the main symbol of the holiday.

It is based on a pumpkin, in which an ominous and grinning face is carved. Inside the pumpkin, people place a lighted candle. Initially, instead of a pumpkin, a turnip was used. The pumpkin with a candle, set next to the house on Halloween day, drives away evil spirits. The costume for Halloween is the main tradition of this holiday. People dress up in costumes of various evil spirits and witches. On this day the witches are especially strong. They have the properties of a werewolf.
