[toc]The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE) has released its latest report on slot jackpots that paid out more than $75,000 this year.
Here’s a basic overview of all $75K+ wins from Jan. 1 to Oct. 29:
- 112 total jackpots
- $17,405,617.09 won
- Two $1 million+ jackpots
- Eight jackpots in the past 30 days
- $721,183.70 won in past 30 days
The two most notable jackpots were hit within eight days of each other. On Aug. 21, a $0.25 bet on a Wheel of Fortune Pink Diamond machine at Harrah’s hit for $2.6 million, making it the biggest jackpot up until the report was published.
Just eight days later, a $0.25 bet took home $1.2 million at a Reel Adventures machine at Resorts Casino Hotel.
These two wins represent 22 percent of all the money won from $75K+ jackpots. It’s worth mentioning Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa almost joined these ranks of August wins over $1 million when it paid out $826,000 on a penny bet via a Hot Shot Twin Fire machine.
The Borgata, Harrah’s, and Resorts jackpots stand as the only wins this year to eclipse $500,000.
More than one out of 10 jackpots from NJ online gambling
Of the 112 jackpot wins listed in the NJDGE’s report, 19 came via legal New Jersey casino sites. Among those 19 wins, six came from GoldenNuggestCasino.com, six from BorgataCasino.com, and four from BetfairCasino.com. PlaySugarHouse.com and NJPartyPoker.com saw one jackpot apiece.
Golden Nugget’s site proved the most generous in a single jackpot sense; it was the only one reporting wins of more than $200,000, giving out two in August.
An Aug. 24 win for $271,268 proved to be the biggest online jackpot of the year so far. We know few details about the winner, only that her name was Susan and the big win came from NetEnt Gaming’s Divine Fortune. The win was indicative of Golden Nugget’s popularity among gamblers as well as the casino’s promotion of Divine Fortune, a game that provides generous bonuses and free spins.
Divine Fortune slot has paid out nearly $1 million since May
Divine Fortune is by far New Jersey’s most generous slot game, according to the DGE’s numbers. Over the past six months, it has paid out $882,937 across three NJ casino sites. Here are the wins so far this year:

- Sept. 17: BetfairCasino.com, $121,547
- Sept. 11: PlaySugarHouse.com, $91,681
- Aug. 24: GoldenNuggetCasino.com, $271,268

All but one of the bets on those jackpots was either $1 or $2.
