NetEnt, a digital entertainment company that provides content for online casinos, has received a transactional waiver from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement. Now that NetEnt is approved to operate in New Jersey, the online gaming provider has signed a content distribution agreement with Resorts Casino, Atlantic City to offer their games on ResortsCasino.com NJ.
Björn Krantz, Director of NetEnt Americas LLC, expressed in a press release that he is excited both for his company’s New Jersey approval and for their partnership with Resorts.
“We are delighted to be live with a selection of our best-in-breed desktop and mobile games over Resorts Casino’s and Mohegan Sun’s online casino network. I am confident that our portfolio offerings will support their agenda to build sustainable long term growth in New Jersey.”
NetEnt is providing digital casino games for both Resorts and Mohegan Sun. Casino content is available for both desktop and mobile interfaces. NetEnt has also given Resorts’ and Mohegan Sun’s customer integration process a complete overhaul.
Mohegan Sun is a large tribal casino located in Connecticut. The casino took over management of Resorts Casino Hotel in 2012 and operates their own online casino under Resorts New Jersey’s iGaming license.
ResortsCasino.com was launched in February 2015 and hasn’t been producing impressive revenue numbers. However, this month Resorts hit the $1 million mark for monthly revenue – a big upswing for the small casino.
Between the revenue increase and the digital content agreement with NetEnt, Resorts’ future in New Jersey iGaming looks awfully bright.
How do the new games compare to the competition?
Not only does Resorts now carry franchised titles from NetEnt like South Park, Aliens, and Creature from The Black Lagoon – the online casino will continue to carry many fan favorites like 50 Dragons, Cleopatra, and Wheel of Fortune Triple Extreme! Spin. Having so many franchised movie titles really sets Resorts apart from other New Jersey online casinos.
Currently there is big competition for New Jersey’s limited player pool. Many online casinos are partnering with external content providers.
The Golden Nugget recently partnered with NYX Gaming Group LTD, and has redone their entire casino interface. With software providers like NetEnt, Resorts is not only not giving up in New Jersey, they’re making decisions which could result in them being the dominant player in the market.
NetEnt and PokerStars could be a winning combination for Resorts
Resorts is in fifth place for total revenues for online casino operators in New Jersey, and though Resorts is not the current leader in New Jersey, the new content agreement with NetEnt makes in apparent that the online casino is in a great position to make a play for number one.
Resorts’ new partnership isn’t the only play the online casino has made. In 2013 Resorts Casino entered in to an Agreement with PokerStars, the international online poker site.
In October of this year, PokerStars was approved for operation by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement and will launch as a partner of Resorts. So far online poker in New Jersey hasn’t been that successful. Players complain about outdated interfaces and small player pools. When PokerStars begins operating in New Jersey in early 2016, they may become the exception. The traffic that the renowned poker site will add to Resorts’ online casino will be substantial.
With Resorts being partnered with both NetEnt and PokerStars, the casino stands a very good chance to become the next leader in both New Jersey’s online casino and poker markets.
