PlayStar Casino is slated to launch in New Jersey “later this year,” so it’s piling up partners to prepare for its North American debut.
Stockholm-based PlayStar filed four petitions with the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE).
DGE’s July 15 records show PlayStar is partnering with:
- London-based gaming content provider International Game Technology (IGT)
- Malta-headquartered live dealer and game provider Evolution
- Malta-based Aspire Global’s Pariplay, a customer relationship management software and game content provider
- London-headquartered online casino software and services provider AlchemyBet Limited
Once PlayStar launches, it’ll be operating on the license of Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City. Right now, three online casino operators are on that license.
According to the DGE’s records found today, Ocean’s partner online casino operators are:
- BetParx Casino
- Tipico Casino
- Ocean Online Casino
PlayStar would bring Ocean to four online casino partners and New Jersey to 39 online casino sites.
Seven retail casino license holders partner with the latter sites. DGE shows only Tropicana Atlantic City, a Las Vegas-based Caesars Entertainment property, has no partner sites on its list of retail casinos.
However, the DGE lists Caesars Interactive Entertainment as a license holder, rather than these retail casinos:
- Caesars Atlantic City Resort and Casino
- Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City
Why is PlayStar in the news now?
PlayStar secured its agreement with Ocean Casino Resort more than a year ago. Next, it needs DGE approval as a New Jersey online casino operator.
bestslotslist.com doesn’t yet see PlayStar’s DGE acceptance.
In the meantime, PlayStar is seeking DGE signoffs on its vendor partnerships.
PlayStar Is Prepping (a Lot of) Game Content
On its site, PlayStar says it’s not a big online gambling operator, but its brand differentiator will be personalization, engagement, and customer experience.
In addition to the four vendors on the DGE list, PlayStar announced a month ago on LinkedIn that it will work with Las Vegas-based Light and Wonder.
PlayStar’s post read:
Through Light & Wonder’s OpenGaming aggregation platform we will have access to a wide selection of the studio’s games available in the market today.
Adam Noble, co-founder and chief business development officer at PlayStar said: “Signing a deal with Light & Wonder is a real landmark moment for us. It’s hugely important that we launch in New Jersey with the very best selection of games available to players. I believe having Light & Wonder’s expansive portfolio of games live on day one will keep our customers entertained and ensure that PlayStar is off to the best possible start.”
Vendors Voice Similar Sentiments
Evolution’s announcement on May 16 said:
“PlayStar customers will be able to enjoy an extensive range of Evolution online Live Casino games and ‘First Person’ casino games on desktop, tablet and smartphone. The live dealer games, streamed in real time from Evolution’s established Live Casino production studio in Atlantic City, will include all the casino classics: Roulette, Blackjack, Baccarat and numerous Poker variants.”
Pariplay announced on May 10 that the PlayStar deal includes:
- Dragons of the North
- Rumble Rhino Megaways
- Wildwood Buffalo
Additionally, Pariplay will provide aggregated games.
PlayStar may pursue a Pennsylvania launch after the one in New Jersey.
