The Carolina Hurricanes are one win away from ending the season for the New York Rangers, but Game 6 of their Eastern Conference Semifinal Series will be played on the ice at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, May 28. So far in this series, the home team has won every game.
To extend the series, the Rangers will have to rebound from what coach Gerard Gallant called “our worst game of the playoffs” — a 3-1 Game 5 loss on Thursday. In that game, Carolina dominated the puck, outshooting the Rangers 34-17.
DraftKings New Jersey Sportsbook is running an offer that fits perfectly for the hockey playoffs bettor. New customers get a $50 free bet with a $5 deposit in addition to a 20% deposit match bonus up to $1,000.

Rangers vs. Hurricanes Betting Odds For Game 6
The Rangers are the slightest of favorites on the moneyline at -115. They’re such slight favorites that sports bettors also have to lay juice (-105) for Carolina’s moneyline.
The over/under is a startling low 5 on DraftKings New Jersey. There is juice (-130) on the over, and the buyback on the under is +110.
There is a lot of value in the Rangers’ series price listed on DraftKings. Carolina has yet to win on the road in the postseason, so if you think New York can hold serve at home and pull off another Game 7 upset, you can get +320 odds. That’s a hefty number for a team that hasn’t been behind by much in this series.
- You can watch Saturday’s game on ESPN, or listen to it on ESPN Radio in New Jersey.
- This game is nearly a pick-em, as DraftKings is daring you to bet the under and asking you to bet basically pick the winner without good odds either way. The implied probability of a win for Carolina, based on the moneyline as of 5 p.m. ET on Friday) is 52%.
- New York has a 43-17 record when listed as the moneyline favorite of -110 or shorter this season.
Players To Watch In Game 6
NY Rangers
Igor Shesterkin, goaltender
How long can this goalie fend off the feverish Hurricane attack? He faced 34 shots in Game 5 and saved 31. But his teammates need to stem the pressure from Carolina on their own end of the ice.
Chris Kreider, left wing
Usually, when the Rangers’ offense hums, Kreider is in the mix, often making key passes that lead to scores, or just stuffing the puck behind the crease himself.
Artemi Panarin, left wing
No great mystery here: Panarin has eight points this postseason, and five have come at the Garden.
Carolina Hurricanes
Sebastian Aho, center
The Canes have a big possession edge, which is how the offense works for Carolina. That benefits Aho, who has two goals and two assists in the five games.
Teuvo Teravainen, left wing
The most dangerous scorer for the Canes this postseason has been Teravainen, but he’s almost disappeared on the road. The Finn has 11 points in the playoffs, but just two have come away from Carolina.
Antti Raanta, goaltender
Every game in this series has finished under the total (which has been 5.5 for each game). There’s little reason to think this crucial game will be different. That’s why Raanta will be a key in Carolina’s effort to win their first road game of these Stanley Cup Playoffs.
