A longtime part of the Nevada sports betting industry is coming to New Jersey. CG Technology expects to launch in time for the next football season which starts in September.
CG Technology boasts a number of firsts, including launching the first mobile sports betting app in Nevada.
Here comes CG Technology to NJ
The company will operate in partnership with the Meadowlands Racetrack. CG Technology will be Meadowlands’ third sports betting skin, the full complement allowed under New Jersey regulations. FanDuel Sportsbook and PointsBet are its other two sports betting partners.
CG Technology is the second bookmaker with experience in Nevada to come to New Jersey, as William Hill (Caesars) US operates three of the NJ retail sportsbooks, in addition to an NJ sports betting app.

CG has been a part of Nevada for years
CG operates eight sportsbooks in Nevada with seven casino partners. As well as the CG mobile app, bettors will find CG sportsbooks at:

- Tropicana
The company sees its Nevada experience as a major advantage as it moves to the New Jersey market.

CG Technology hit technology problems in Nevada
Part of that Nevada experience that no company would enjoy saw CG get in hot water with Nevada regulators .
Software problems led to a number of breaches of Nevada regulations. Bets were sometimes allowed after a game had ended and wagers were occasionally settled incorrectly. Bettors received either too much or too little money.
There were even some incidents where players outside the state borders placed bets online.
In November, 2018, the Nevada Gaming Commission finally agreed a settlement with CG Technology. Because of its errors, the company paid a $1.75 million fine plus a $250,000 contribution to the Nevada Council on Problem Gaming.
Over and above the money, CG Technology agreed to move to an “unaffiliated third-party sports pool wagering system.” That transition is due this month.
However, those matters are now in the past. CG can now look forward to a New Jersey expansion confident that it has survived and thrived despite some hard knocks.
